Voltage Foundry Modular

Open-source Eurorack modules, forged in code and copper.

Voltage Foundry Modular designs and builds open-source Eurorack modules. Every one is real, buildable hardware, and the firmware-driven ones also ship as pixel-accurate VCV Rack plugins — the same firmware that runs on the metal runs inside Rack, so you can try them before you buy or build.

Hardware you can build

Every module is fully open hardware — schematics, panels and firmware are published so you can build, mod and calibrate your own.

Try it in VCV Rack

The VCV Rack plugins are not reimplementations. They run the actual module firmware with the OLED emulated pixel for pixel.

One plugin, one install

Every module with a Rack version is bundled into a single VCV plugin, kept in sync with each module's own repository. (Soon on VCV Library!)

Get the VCV modules

The ForgeSeries catalog is bundled into a single VCV Rack plugin, Voltage Foundry Modular — coming to the VCV Library soon. Until then, build it from source or grab a release from the plugin repository and drop it into your VCV Rack plugins folder.

Build the VCV version yourself

git clone https://github.com/VoltageFoundryMod/ForgeSeries
cd ForgeSeries
make vcv-install

Requires the VCV Rack SDK. See the repository README for details.

From the workbench

Tools built along the way to make the modules. Free, and they run in your browser — nothing to install.

Gingerbread - SVG to PCB

Front panel artwork into fabrication-ready PCBs.

Draw your Eurorack front panel as vector artwork, then turn it into a KiCad board ready for the fab house — no PCB editor wrangling in between.

What it handles

  • Panel size in HP or millimetres, at 72, 96 or 2540 DPI
  • Round or slotted mounting holes, placed for you
  • Artwork mapped onto copper, mask and silkscreen layers
  • Round-trip through Inkscape for the detailed work
  • Mirrored export for back-layer artwork
